He enlisted in Company B, 8th Ohio Infantry at age 33 on 13 June 1861.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.
The rest of the War
He was also wounded, at Gettysburg, PA in July 1863. Mustered out with his Company on 13 July 1864.
