Before Antietam

He enlisted in Company D, 8th Ohio Infantry at age 18 on 22 June 1861, and transferred to Company C on 25 June.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.

The rest of the War

Transferred to the 2nd US Cavalry on 10 October 1862.

After the War

He was a Special Pension Examiner (US Department of the Interior) for the 2nd District of Connecticut at New Haven from 1882 to 1893. He was living on Humphreys Street in Dorchester, MA in 1905.
