He enlisted in Company F, 8th Ohio Infantry at age 19 on 24 June 1861.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.
The rest of the War
He was discharged 13 December 1862 at Frederick, MD on a Surgeon's Certificate of disability.
After the War
He was listed as living in Bradner, OH at the time of the Regimental Reunion at Gettysburg in September 1887.
