He enlisted 7 July 1861, at Camp Moore, LA in Company A, 9th Louisiana Infantry. He was a farmer in Homer, LA, age 30 when enlisted, single. He re-mustered for the War, at Camp Carondelet, VA on 5 February 1862.
On the Campaign
He was killed in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.
