Before Sharpsburg
He enlisted 7 July 1861, at Camp Moore, LA, in Company H, 9th Louisiana Infantry. He was a farmer, in Brush Valley, LA, age 22 when enlisted, and single. He was appointed Sergeant, date not given.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.
The rest of the War
He was sent to the Hospital, Staunton, VA. He was present with his Company on the Rolls from November 1862 to February 1864. The Roll for the period ending 31 August 1864, says he died, date unknown. Later note states he died in Alabama in August 1864.
