He enlisted 4 July 1861, at Amite City, LA, in Company D, 14th Louisiana Infantry. He was a laborer in New Orleans, age 25 when enlisted, and single. He was absent, wounded after the battle of Williamsburg, VA in May 1862.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.

The rest of the War

He was in hospitals and died at Guinea Station, VA on 21 April.
