Before Sharpsburg

He enlisted 12 June 1861 in New Orleans, in Company K, 14th Louisiana Infantry. He was a clerk living in New Orleans, age 18 when enlisted, and single.

On the Campaign

He was reported missing in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.

The rest of the War

He was back with his Company by November 1862. He was captured in action near the Rappahannock River, VA on 7 or 8 November 1863. He was forwarded to Point Lookout, MD from Belle Plains, VA on 11 November 1863. He was paroled at Pt. Lookout on 9 March 1864, and exchanged at City Point, VA on 15 March 1864, returning to his unit. He was mortally wounded in action on 16 May 1864 (probably at Drewry's Bluff, VA) and died two days later.
