He enlisted 3 June 1861, in New Orleans, in Company B, 14th Louisiana Infantry. He was a laborer in New Orleans, age 23 when enlisted, and single.

On the Campaign

He was wounded, probably mortally, in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.

The rest of the War

He was captured along with the other patients at the Confederate Hospital, Winchester, VA 2 December 1862. He died there from typhoid fever, with his wounds probably contributing, on the 9th.
