He enlisted 22 July 1861, at Camp Moore, LA, in Company F, 10th Louisiana Infantry. He was a carpenter living in New Orleans, and single. He was captured near Richmond, VA on 28 June 1862 forwarded to Ft. Columbus, NY Harbor, on 3 July, and sent to Ft. Delaware, DE on the 9th. He was exchanged at Aikens Landing, VA, on 5 August 1862 and returned to his Company.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.
