He enlisted 10 June 1861 in Company H, 9th Virginia Cavalry.
On the Campaign
He was captured in action on 15 September 1862 at Boonsboro, MD.
The rest of the War
He was held at Ft. Delaware until exchanged there on 10 November 1862. He was present with his unit at the final muster roll of 6 October 1864, and paroled at Mechanicsville, VA on 2 May 1865.
