He moved to Taliaferro County, GA from Virginia in December 1855 with brothers Titus, William, and Quintus. He enlisted 26 July 1862 in Company E, 9th Virginia Cavalry.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in the foot in action on 14 September 1862 at Boonsboro, MD.

The rest of the War

He was absent, wounded until listed as absent without leave in about May 1863. He was listed as absent, wounded, as late as April 1864, but as present with his Company on the final Roll of 1 October 1864.

After the War

He was a storekeeper in Crawfordville, GA with brothers Titus and Quintus.
