Before Antietam
At age 38 he enlisted in Altoona, PA on 26 July and he mustered as a Private in Company K, 125th Pennsylvania Infantry on 13 August 1862 in Harrisburg.
On the Campaign
He was reported missing in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was probably discharged for disability in 1863.
