Basic information from Carruth1. An 18 year old resident of Newburyport, MA, he enrolled at Private, Company B, 35th Massachusetts Infantry, and mustered in August 1862. He was in action on South Mountain at Antietam. Promoted to Corporal in 1864. He died at Knoxville, TN on 19 March 1864, and was buried at the National Cemetery there, lot 6, grave 32.
