Before Antietam
An 18 year old resident of Newburyport, MA, he enrolled at Private, Company B, 35th Massachusetts Infantry, and mustered in August 1862.
On the Campaign
He was in action on South Mountain on 14 September and was wounded in the thigh in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.
The rest of the War
He was discharged for disability from wounds on 17 January 1863.
After the War
He was living in Newburyport in 1884.
