Basic information from Carruth1. A 44 year old resident of Newburyport, MA, he enrolled at Private, Company B, 35th Massachusetts Infantry, and mustered in August 1862. He was in action on South Mountain and at Antietam. Discharged on expiration of enlistment on 9 June 1865 at Washington, DC. He died in December 1877 and was buried in Newburyport.
