Basic information from Carruth1. A 40 year old resident of Newburyport, MA, he enrolled at Private, Company B, 35th Massachusetts Infantry, and mustered in August 1862. He was in action on South Mountain and at Antietam, where he was wounded. He was discharged for disability on 20 November 1862.
