Basic information from Carruth1. A 45 year old resident of Newburyport, MA, he enrolled at Private, Company B, 35th Massachusetts Infantry, and mustered in August 1862. He was in action on South Mountain and at Antietam, where he was wounded in the leg. He transferred to the Veteran Reserve Corps (date not given), and was discharged 14 February 1863.
