Basic information from Carruth1. A 19 year old resident of Newburyport, MA, he enrolled at Private, Company B, 35th Massachusetts Infantry, and mustered in August 1862. He was in action on South Mountain and at Antietam. He was captured in action on 18 May 1864, and confined at Salisbury, NC. He was discharged as a paroled prisoner on 9 June 1865. He died 3 May 1883 and was buried in Newburyport.
