Basic information from Carruth1. A 25 year old resident of Newburyport, MA, he enrolled at Private, Company B, 35th Massachusetts Infantry, and mustered in August 1862. He was in action on South Mountain where he was mortally wounded. He died of wounds on 15 September 1862 at Middletown, MD.
