Basic information from Carruth1. A 32 year old resident of Newburyport, MA, he enrolled at Private, Company B, 35th Massachusetts Infantry, and mustered in August 1862. He was in action on South Mountain and at Antietam. He was promoted to Commissary Sergeant in 1863 and 2nd Lieutenant in June 1865. Discharged on expiration of his term on 9 June 1865. He was living in Cambridgeport in 1884.
