Basic information from Carruth1. A 21 year old resident of Newburyport, MA, he enrolled at Private, Company B, 35th Massachusetts Infantry, and mustered in August 1862. He was in action on South Mountain and at Antietam, where he was wounded in the wrist. He was discharged for disability from wounds on 28 January 1863. He was living in Lynn, MA in 1884.
