Basic information from Carruth1. A 30 year old resident of Newburyport, MA, he enrolled at Private, Company B, 35th Massachusetts Infantry, and mustered in August 1862. He was in action on South Mountain and at Antietam, Jackson, MS, Spottsylvania and at Petersburg, where he was wounded on 18 May 1864. Discharged on expiration of his term on 9 June 1865. He was living in Vineland, NJ in 1884.
