Basic information from Carruth1. A 24 year old resident of Newburyport, MA, he enrolled at Private, Company B, 35th Massachusetts Infantry, and mustered in August 1862. He was in action on South Mountain and at the South Anna, VA, where he was wounded on 24 May 1864. He was detailed to the hospital, and discharged on expiration of his term on 9 June 1865. He was living in Portsmouth, MA in 1884.
