Basic information from Carruth1. A 27 year old resident of Newburyport, MA, he enrolled at Private, Company B, 35th Massachusetts Infantry, and mustered in August 1862. He was in action on South Mountain and was reported as a prisoner there. He deserted from Camp Parole, Annapolis, MD (date not given). He was living in Topton, CA in 1884.
