Basic information from Carruth1. An 18 year old resident of Newburyport, MA, he enrolled at Private, Company B, 35th Massachusetts Infantry, and mustered in August 1862. He was in action on South Mountain, Antietam, Fredericksburg, on the Tennessee and Mississippi Campaigns, and at Petersburg, VA. He was promoted to Corporal and Sergeant in 1864. He was discharged on expiration of his term on 9 June 1865. He was living in Philadelphia in 1884.
