Before Antietam

From Sylvester, he enlisted in Company C, 3rd Wisconsin Infantry on 22 April 1861.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.

The rest of the War

He was discharged for wounds on 6 April 1863. He married, for the 2nd time, on 2 December 1863. He enlisted in Company M, 2nd Wisconsin Cavalry on 5 January 1864 and mustered out 15 November 1865 at Austin, TX.

After the War

He died of typhoid fever in 1869.

First wife (m. 1859) was Sarah "Sallie" Jordan Lovelace, who died about 3 months after their son George (1860-1936, probably raised by grandfather Jeremiah Lovelace) was born. Second wife was Harriet Raymond Lovelace (1842-1920).
