Emigrated to Milwaukee, WI by way of Quebec in 1860. Listed from Williamstown, he enlisted in Company E, 3rd Wisconsin Infantry on 22 April 1861.
On the Campaign
He was killed in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam. His brother Christian was wounded there.
