Before Antietam

From East Windsor, he enlisted in Company G, 16th Connecticut Infantry and mustered into service on 8 August 1862.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.

The rest of the War

He was captured (with most of his Regiment) at Plymouth, NC on 20 April 1864. He was held at Andersonville, GA beginning on 4 May until transferred to Florence, SC on 8 October. He died of disease there at 9:00PM on 20 October 1864.
