Before Sharpsburg
He mustered as Corporal, Company A, 5th Florida Infantry on 11 December 1861 in Monticello, FL. He was reduced in rank to Private on 11 February 1862.
On the Campaign
He was mortally wounded in the back and hip and captured in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.
The rest of the War
He was paroled 27 September at Sharpsburg but died of wounds on 1 October 1862.
