He mustered as Private, Company K, 5th Florida Infantry on 26 February 1862.
On the Campaign
He was "left sick" in Maryland on the 15th and captured on 16 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was exchanged on 26 September 1862 and returned to his Company. He was captured again, in action at Spotsylvania Courthouse, VA on 12 May 1864 and held at Camp No. 3 in Elmira, NY. He died of disease, probably at the regional Army hospital there, on 2 June 1865.
