Basic information from State of Florida1, which lists him as Blacksher Gandy. He was probably born about 1845 in Decatur, GA. He may also have had service in Captain C. G. Campbell's Independent Company, Georgia Siege Artillery (later Atlanta Arsenal Battery), established in 1863.
