He was an unmarried 19 year old farmer from Evergreen, AL when he enlisted as Private on 25 April 1861 in Company E, 4th Alabama Infantry.
On the Campaign
Present in action on South Mountain and at Sharpsburg.
The rest of the War
Promoted to First Corporal in December 1862 and 2nd Sergeant on 8 February 1864. He was wounded in action at Petersburg, VA in October 1864, and his arm was resected (?).
After the War
He lived in Marlin, TX post-War.
