He was an unmarried 19 year old farmer from Tuskegee, AL when he enlisted as Private on 28 April 1861 in Company B, 4th Alabama Infantry.
On the Campaign
He was captured on South Mountain in action in September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was exchanged in November 1862. Present with his Company in action in most engagements at least through the siege of Petersburg in 1864.
