He was an unmarried 21 year old farmer from Summerfield, AL when he enlisted as Private on 26 April 1861 in Company C, 4th Alabama Infantry.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He returned to his Company in December 1862. He was killed in action at Gettysburg, PA on 2 July 1863.
