He was an unmarried 30 year old farmer from Hadens, AL when he enlisted as Private on 26 April 1861 in Company F, 4th Alabama Infantry.
On the Campaign
Present in action on South Mountain and at Sharpsburg.
The rest of the War
Present with his Company in action in most engagements until he was mortally in action in the Wilderness, VA on 6 May 1864. He had his leg amputated, and died at Orange Court House, VA on 14 May 1864.
