He was an unmarried 24 year old mechanic from Huntsville, AL when he enlisted as Private on 24 April 1861 in Company F, 4th Alabama Infantry. He was present with his Company in engagements from First to Second Manassas.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.
The rest of the War
Present with his Company in action in most engagements at least to the siege of Petersburg in 1864, having been wounded at Cold Harbor, VA in June 1864.
