He was captured in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.
The rest of the War
Paroled by the Federal Provost Marshal at Keedysville, MD on 20 September 1862. He was wounded and captured in action in the Wilderness, VA on 6 May 1864. By 8 June he was at the Old Capitol Prison, Washington DC. On 23 July 1864 he was among the first sent to Elmira Prison, NY, and was there until paroled on 19 May 1865.
After the War
He was a carpenter and car builder in Chattanooga, TN.
