Before Sharpsburg

He was a married 35 year old mechanic from Larkinsville, AL when he enlisted as Private on 27 April 1861 in Company K, 4th Alabama Infantry. He was in action from First to Second Manassas, VA. He was elected 2nd Lieutenant on 20 April and First Lieutenant on 25 August.

On the Campaign

He was with his Company on South Mountain and at Sharpsburg, where he was promoted to Captain on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was killed in action at Fredericksburg, VA on 13 December 1862.
