He was an unmarried 36 year old farmer from Larkinsville, AL when he enlisted as Private on 10 August 1861 in Company K, 4th Alabama Infantry. He was in action from First to Second Manassas, VA.

On the Campaign

He was with his Company on South Mountain and at Sharpsburg.

The rest of the War

He was present from Fredericksburg, VA in December 1862 to to Chickamauga, GA where he was wounded in the left shoulder in action on 19 September 1863. He was later listed as a deserter, date not given.

After the War

He was in Wehoga, Cleburne County, AL in 1870. He was a resident of Larkinsville at his death in 1904.
