He was a married 24 year old farmer from Florence, AL when he enlisted as Private on 26 July 1861 in Company K, 4th Alabama Infantry at Camp Bee, VA. He was in action from Eltham's Landing through Second Manassas, VA.

On the Campaign

He was with his Company on South Mountain and at Sharpsburg.

The rest of the War

He was in action from Fredericksburg, VA in December 1862 to the Wilderness, VA. He was sent to the hospital sick on 28 April 1864, but not heard from afterward.
