He was slightly wounded in the arm and leg in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was wounded again, at Chickamauga, GA on 19 September 1863. He was promoted to Corporal, date not given, but killed in action in the Wilderness, VA on 6 May 1864.
