Before Sharpsburg

A 49 (sic) year old farmer from Pinetuckey, he enlisted in Company A, 8th Alabama Infantry on 8 May 1861. He was present at Yorktown and 2nd Manassas in 1862.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in the right hand in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.

The rest of the War

Captured in action at Gettysburg, PA on 2 July 1863 and held at Fort Delaware until 26 October 1863, when he was transferred to Point Lookout, MD. He was exchanged at Point Lookout on 29 October 1864 and received at Venus Point on the Savannah River, GA on 15 November. He died enroute to his home.
