Before Sharpsburg

An unmarried 21 year old farmer from Buckyville, he enlisted in Company B, 8th Alabama Infantry on 13 May 1861. He was present at Yorktown, Williamsburg, Seven Pines, and Gaines Mill, VA, where he was wounded in action in June 1862.

On the Campaign

He was captured in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.

The rest of the War

He was wounded again, in action at Fredericksburg, VA in December 1862, and killed at Gettysburg, PA on 2 July 1863.
