He was wounded in action on 14 September 1862 at Fox's Gap.

The rest of the War

He reenlisted in Company A, 6th South Carolina Cavalry on 27 August 1863. He was admitted on 3 August 1864 to the Wilson General Hospital, Wilson, NC, and died there 27 August 1864.
