Before Sharpsburg

He mustered as First Sergeant in Company G, First Texas Infantry on 23 June 1861 at Palestine, TX. He was on recruiting duty in Texas from February to April 1862 and was elected 3rd Lieutenant on 20 May 1862.

On the Campaign

He was slightly wounded in the knee in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He died in a Richmond hospital on 4 April 1863.
