He was wounded in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He transferred to Company F, 94th New York Infantry on 10 March 1863, and to the 51st Company, 2nd Battalion, Veteran Reserve Corps on 23 March 1865. He was discharged for disability on 21 June 1865 at Alexandria, VA.
