He died, probably of disease, at the Smoketown Hospital near Sharpsburg on 26 September 1862 or at Boonsboro, MD on 24 September.

The rest of the War

He was treated at the Smoketown Hospital at Sharpsburg, MD but died there on 26 September 1862, cause not given.
