He was paroled on 6 October in Richmond, VA, and promoted to Corporal on 1 January 1863. He was promoted to Sergeant, date not given, reenlisted 19 February 1864, and was appointed Sergeant-Major of the regiment on 6 March 1865. He mustered out on 14 March 1865 at Bermuda Hundred, VA.
