He mustered out of the 22nd with his Company on 19 June 1863 at Albany, NY. He enlisted 16 September 1863 in Company I, New York Heavy Artillery. He was captured at Petersburg, VA on 16 June 1864, and mustered out with his Company on 1 August 1865 in Baltimore, MD.
