He was wounded by gunshot to the right knee in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was treated at the Hoffman Farm Hospital, near Sharpsburg, MD. He was listed as a deserter on 3 October 1862 at Bolivar Heights, VA (now WV).
